Lancashire Care provides an Eating Disorder Service in Central, East and North and West Lancashire

Information regarding the services is provided below.

Central Lancashire Eating Disorder Service

The service provides community support for people with complex presentations of eating disorder from age 16 upwards, and ensures smooth transition into the service from CAMHS for those approaching their 16th birthday.

The team is multidisciplinary, including specialist nurses, GP, clinical psychologists and dietician.  The team offers supported eating, psychological therapy and management of physical health issues associated with eating disorders.
Interventions provided include; Assessment; Care Planning and physical monitoring; Therapy 1:1 and groups; dietetics 1:1 and supported meal groups, systemic family therapy

The team work closely with other teams and colleagues to ensure the patients who need the service are referred appropriately from the wider LCFT network. We have strong links with local schools, colleges and universities additionally throughout central Lancashire.

East Lancashire Eating Disorder Service consists of a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment and treatment interventions within the community, for people presenting with a primary eating disorder. 

Interventions include: Assessment; Care Planning and physical monitoring; Therapy 1:1 and groups; dietetics 1:1 and supported meal groups, systemic family therapy.

The service provides an accessible service that operates between the hours of 09:00 to 17:00 on a Monday to Friday basis, earlier or later appointments are available on request.

North Lancashire Eating Disorder Service; working across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and Lancaster and Morecambe.

The specialist Eating Disorders Service targets more complex presentations of Eating Disorder. They provide an outpatient service to the population of Blackpool and North Lancashire for complex presentations of eating disorders, supporting Eating Disorder interventions across other services.

Interventions provided include; Assessment and Care Planning and Group and 1:1 Therapy.

The team work closely with other teams and colleagues to ensure the patients who need the service are referred appropriately.

The service provides an accessible service that operates between the hours of 09:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

GPs can refer into the service via the Single Point of Access.

The service accepts referrals from the age of 16 with no upper age limit
