Keith’s interest has focused for many years on Health and Social Care, primarily mental health being a driving force for change. Keith’s own personal experience of the mental health system empowered him to be involved with Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and various national statutory organisations. Keith has participated as a member of the Local Implementation Team (LIT), linked to the National Service Framework (NSF), Kings College taking the lead. Keith is a member of Mind and NSUN and has been involved with other voluntary charities. He was also a volunteer with Lancashire Advocacy promoting advocacy in mental health. Keith has also volunteered at UCLan through patient and public involvement (PPI).
Katharine has been a Public Governor for north Lancashire since January 2016. She has a first degree in Occupational Psychology and Ergonomics from Cardiff and a Masters in Third Sector Management from Edge Hill. Having worked for 26 years on cockpit design and engineering management at BAE Systems, Katharine had a career change and now works as a Management Consultant within the voluntary sector. She is also the Network Director for the Insight Network for Mental Health (a charity that provides support for third sector mental health organisations across Lancashire) and a Director/Trustee for Fylde Community Link (a charity providing support to people with learning disabilities).
