The Continence Service provides advice, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people with bladder and bowel dysfunction in the central Lancashire area. We work from one central base with clinics being held at various locations across the catchment area.
The service has a multi professional team of skilled clinicians who can provide specialist assessment and treatments to anyone with or looking after someone who has a bladder and/or bowel problem and/or incontinence.
The service aims to enable people to become continent where achievable and where intractable access to or advice on appropriate products and specialist referral where required.
The service offers both clinic and home visits (this will be discussed at the time of referral but home visits are generally for housebound people).
We provide education and training to patients and carers as part of their assessment. Training is also provided where appropriate to care homes, charitable organisations, and the voluntary sector on request.
How to access the service
Referrals can be made to the service by telephone, email or fax. Health and Social Care professionals will be requested to refer using the service referral form which can be requested. Self referrals are also accepted. Links for referral forms can be found lower down this page.
