Increased Demand for Health Services

There is currently an increased demand on local NHS services especially A&E and mental health beds. Due to the demand being higher than usual we have taken the decision to temporarily suspend any non-essential and planned activity from parts of the following services:

  • Mindsmatter services
  • Learning Disability Community teams
  • Early Intervention services
  • Specialist Services

This is anticipated to continue up to and including 1 February 2016. If your appointment has been cancelled please be assured that we are doing all that we can to ensure that this is re-arranged as soon as possible. Your support and cooperation is very much appreciated. If you have an urgent query about your care or treatment please contact the team or service that you are under. You can find details of all of our services here

A&E Departments are very busy so please only use it in an emergency. In non-emergency situations please use the Lancashire Care Wellbeing & Mental Health HelplineNHS Choices, 111, your local pharmacy and local minor injury and urgent care services

The situation is improving and remains under constant review; we are working to ensure that those people that are the most unwell or vulnerable are cared for appropriately and as little disruption as possible is caused. Please be assured that your local NHS services are working together to continue providing essential care at this busy time. Further updates will be posted on this page.
