Celebrity 'Lock In' for Students in Lancashire

Posted on the 16th September 2015

The St Georges Centre in Preston is hosting a two hour VIP ‘lock in’ with a surprise celebrity guest for students to get some bargains, pick up some freebies and get their sexual health checked out!

On Tuesday 29 September from 6pm Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Contraception and Sexual Health Team (CaSH) will be attending the lock in to give away condoms, offer chlamydia screenings kits and to promote positive sexual health messages. The team will also be offering students the opportunity to win vouchers for the shops in the centre and will be giving away ‘consent tins’ along with other useful goodies that encourage and promote safe sex.

Donna Welch, Community Sexual Health Development Lead on Chlamydia Screening at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

"We anticipate the shop-in to be a great evening full of fun, freebies and shopping. It provides an ideal platform for us to get messages to young people about the importance of safe sex whilst promoting good sexual health in a fun interactive way."

The CaSH team will be at the shopping centre in Preston from 6pm-9pm on the day but if you can’t attend or aren’t a student and need help or support, they hold regular contraception and Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) clinics for anyone.
