Love Your Liver

Love your liver is the message Lancashire residents are being given by the British Liver Trust this January.

The 'Love Your Liver" campaign is led by the British Liver Trust which is a UK charity for adults with liver conditions. Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust"s Fit Squad is supporting the campaign which encourages people to take the three steps to love your liver and stay healthy which are:

1)    Have 2-3 alcohol free days a week

2)    Do more exercise and stay fit

3)    Cut down on sugars and fats in food and drink

Tracy Sutton, Healthy Lifestyles Service Manager at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

"Liver disease if the fifth largest killer in the country and can be caused by our lifestyle,   which is why it"s important to educate the public about the health risks that come with being overweight. Our aim is to spread awareness of looking after ourselves to prevent developing liver related illnesses and lead a healthier lifestyle in general.

"Our team can help and support adults in the area follow the three steps to love your liver, don"t go it alone, get in touch and make changes to your lifestyle today."
