Student nurses welcome to attend careers event

Posted on the 31st August 2016

Are you a third year student nurse looking for a new challenge? Do you want the opportunity to work for a forward thinking, innovative employer who is passionate about mental health and wellbeing services?

If so, then Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is holding a careers event for all third year student nurses who are due to qualify in January or March 2017.

The event–on 7 September 2016 at 1-3pm at the Invincibles Suite at Preston North End, Lowthorpe Road, Preston–is to be held to provide student nurses with the opportunity to talk to the Trust’s nurses who work in a range of teams and services.

Emma Wilcock, Associate Director of HR Operations at the Trust, said: “Here at Lancashire Care we are looking for health professionals to come and join our diverse range of teams and services. The Trust is one of the Health Service Journal’s (HSJ) 100 best places to work in healthcare, and the careers event we’re holding is a great opportunity for student nurses to meet and chat with our staff as well as HR to answer any questions applicants may have. We are looking for student nurses who are committed to providing the very best in compassionate patient care and relish the opportunity to join us as we embark on this exciting new venture.”

Georgina Ritchie, Course Leader for the Community Specialist Practice Programmes at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), said: “I think this is a great opportunity for student nurses at UCLan to really get a feel for the opportunities that are available to them. Our students at UCLan are full of enthusiasm and often go on to a lifelong commitment to nursing in different capacities across the country. Our desire is to provide tomorrow’s nurses with the best opportunities to offer the very best care, providing potential employers such as Lancashire Care with skilled and knowledgeable graduates.”
