Health staff celebrating their achievements

Posted on the 17th March 2017

Over 350 members of heath care staff gathered to recognise their achievements at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s eighth annual Staff Awards ceremony held last week in Accrington.

The event provides an opportunity for staff to cheer on their colleagues who had been nominated for one of 11 categories. For the fourth year running, the awards also saw the return of the People’s Choice Award which was nominated and voted for by members of the public.

Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“This year’s Staff Awards was very popular and as successful as ever. It was a fantastic night full of fun and enjoyed by everyone who attended. The event really highlights the dedication our staff exhibit every day in providing high quality care to all of our service users, their families and carers. It’s also a great way to remember and celebrate the achievements of our staff and highlight the great work that we have done over the past year.

“As previous years, the standard of the nominations we received was very high and it proved to be a difficult task shortlisting in each of the categories. Everyone nominated should be extremely proud of their work and those who received an award this year are fine examples of just some of our staff who go above and beyond in their roles.”

Winners were awarded with a trophy and there was also recognition for colleagues who just missed out on a winning spot but who still deserved a special mention.

The evening was held at the Dunkenhalgh hotel, Accrington and was sponsored by Corporate Design Company Ltd, SF Taylor, Ward Hadaway and Hempsons.
