If you’re a nurse looking to embark on a new challenge, Lancashire Care could be just what you’re looking for!

Lancashire Care provides health and wellbeing services across a range of community and mental health services, and is on the lookout for innovative, hard-working Registered General Nurses and Registered Mental Health Nurses who are dedicated to providing excellent patient care.

Katie Jones, a District Nurse Team Leader and Community Practice Teacher at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust who is based at Longridge, explains what she loves about working for the Trust:

“I have worked in the community now for most of my career and have worked in rural and urban settings spanning extensive multi-diverse populations with long-term chronic health conditions. Working in the community has evolved over the last 10 years and nurses now have fantastic opportunities that simply weren’t available before. At Lancashire Care, staff are able to progress and develop. This can be into a more leadership capacity, practice teaching roles or even managerial roles.

“Working in the community as a District Nurse is a privileged job and every day is varied and different. One day, staff can see patients who are being managed for complex wound care or administration of intravenous therapies, and the next day we could be supporting families and relatives who are nearing the end of their life. The clinical aspect of our work has increased too over this time and we provide much more complex interventions than we ever used to. The staff providing this care across all teams are committed and second to none. To me, this is the glue that holds it all together and I am proud of the staff we employ as the care is exceptional and of a high standard.”
