Free weight management programme

Posted on the 7th March 2014

Food for Thought is a FREE course of group sessions, open to women and men over the age of 16 living within the Hyndburn area. Over a quarter of adults within the Hyndburn community are classed as being obese and are therefore at a higher risk of developing conditions including diabetes and heart disease, as well as mental health problems such as depression.

Laura Chetwood, Fit Squad Advisor at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

“Food For Thought really is a programme with a difference and aims to help people set achievable goals to eat more healthily and identify feasible and enjoyable ways to stay active.

“The programme is tailored specifically for your own needs and aims to provide solutions to help you manage your weight in the longer term. The groups offer a supportive and relaxed environment where people feel they can develop healthy habits in a positive atmosphere without judgment.”
