Social Support Hub launching for people living in Lancaster and Morecambe

People in the area who are struggling with health, housing, homelessness, finance and isolation can access support from The Social Support Hub, which is launching in Lancaster next week.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Restart and Recovery Team in Lancaster have launched a Social Support Hub initiative in order to provide a facility that enables people to easily access vital services all under one roof. The Trust has worked closely with the statutory services and the local voluntary sector to create a hub of support under one roof in a community setting, where people should feel more comfortable and be able to access these services with the support from mental health professionals and other partners.

Cath Thompson, Occupational Therapist at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

“We are really excited to be launching The Social Support Hub here in Lancaster and to be able to provide a one stop shop for people to easily access the support that they need, be this health, housing or finances.

“We are looking forward to working with so many fantastic organisations in order to be able to maximise the support that we each offer to people out in the community.”

The Social Support Hub will aim to develop including regular guest speakers from relevant community ventures to promote social engagement opportunities including The Well and Red Rose Recovery Social inclusion groups including Making Space, Serenity Café, Socialease, Inspire and Lancashire Wellbeing. The group will meet monthly on a Tuesday afternoon from 2.00-3.30pm at Lancaster Library, Market Square, Lancaster LA1 1HY.
