Appreciative Leadership: Delivering Difference through Conversation and Inquiry
The story of a journey to embed values and change culture

HTM and Dr Diana Whitney

Heartfelt, engaged and inclusive. These are just some of the words used by Dr Diana Whitney, a thought leader in Appreciative Inquiry, to describe the work undertaken over the last five years by Lancashire Care to embed appreciative leadership across the organisation. The Trust has worked in partnership with Fiona MacNeill Associates (FMA) to develop both its existing and future leaders. There is a direct link between the engagement of employees and a positive patient experience, which is why developing good leadership capability is vital in a healthcare setting. The Trust has also worked hard with FMA to bring its core values; teamwork, respect, integrity, excellence, accountability and compassion, to life to shape a positive culture and future for our employees and the people using the Trust's services.

This e-book, written by Trust Chief Executive Heather Tierney-Moore and Fiona MacNeill presents the story of Lancashire Care and FMA. They share a joint belief in developing a values-based culture, the delivery of services aligned to core purpose and beliefs, and the engagement of people through Appreciative Leadership.  This book will be of interest to anyone that is interested in cultural change, improving engagement and creating the climate for values-driven leadership. Please feel free to share this link far and wide.
