Suggestions and Improvements

Parents said:

It was not important for all parents but a majority would prefer a named Health Visitor to oversee care from the first contact with the service until their child goes to school. Many people valued continuity and relationship building although for some this was less important.

We will:

By September 2015 all families will have a named Health Visitor to oversee care from your first contact until your child goes to school.

 

Parents said:

Some people had waited in all day for an appointment which is not good.

We will:

ensure everyone has a 2 hour time window for an appointment

 

Parents said:

The people that we asked who had no or limited English preferred not to use family members to interpret

We will:

Ensure that a link-worker or interpreter is used when needed

 

Parents said:

Sometimes advice can be inconsistent or limited especially around feeding or weaning.

We will:

Work hard to achieve the UNICEF Baby Friendly Award in all areas which ensures standard advice around infant feeding.
